Stomp Out the Violence: The purpose of this high-powered, interactive presentation facilitated by members of “Icons” seeks to educate the attendees on how to rise above cultural, domestic and psychological factors, which may manifest into various forms of violent behavior. This is achieved by attempting to understand, manage, and fight the root causes and influences of violence including the hip-hop culture. |

The Story of Stuff: In this workshop, presenters will expose youth to the growing concerns around, over-consumption, waste and pollution in an attempt to heighten awareness and promote greener living. “Reality TV” For Youth By Youth: This youth-led workshop will explore social justice and community change in urban communities. Through digital media, young people from Allentown, Pa. were able to raise their voices and share their perspectives on community issues that directly affect their lives. Through the use of multi-media, HYPE youth have addressed issues of police discrimination, stereotypes, educational equality and healthy relationships. This workshop will focus on effective methods for utilizing digital storytelling to create lasting community change. |
